Hand Cart Check-out/check-in
The handcarts that you will be pulling are quite an investment. We hope that you will understand and appreciate the need for us to protect and preserve their condition. We will check the handcarts before you take them on your trek to verify they are all in good working condition. When your trek is complete we will inspect them as they are turned in. We understand that they will be exposed to sun and weather, along with normal trail wear. Please do your best to treat your handcart respectfully and not to damage it in any way.
Trail Protocol
We are excited about the opportunity to trek to the Ephraim Temple site. It is an amazing opportunity to show our love for the blessing the Manti Temple has been, as well as move forward to the new opportunities and blessings that await through the new Ephraim temple. We hope that you will feel the sacredness of this symbolic trail and that it will remind you of the importance of the trek home to Eternity, through covenants made in the House of the Lord.
“Choose to return to Him, prepared, qualified, endowed, sealed, and faithful to covenants made in holy temples.” ~President Russell M. Nelson
With regards to the wildlife, we hope that you see them, please don’t harass them. You are guests in their home.
One last reminder in regards to the trail, please follow the principle of Leave No Trace. Please do not litter.
Bathroom Facilities/Water
We will provide locations along the trail for you to stop at the bathroom, and to refill your water containers. There will also be a portable Porta Potty for use if needed.
On the subject of water, when it comes to hydration there is no substitute. We will be hauling in water for your convenience. We want you to use as much as you need. However, this water is not intended for bathing. We would like to encourage you to not waste a lot of water when you are in camp.
You will need to bring jugs to take water with you in the handcarts. 5- 10 gallons per handcart is best. (please bring these jugs full)
Campground Rules
We want you to have an enjoyable camping experience during your trek. These rules will help to make it pleasant for you and those that follow you.
1 –When you arrive in camp we want you to set up your Sleeping area at the edge of the meadow.
2 –Do not dig trenches in the ground around your tent
3 –Please use the portable bathrooms when in camp.
4 –Please do not leave anything in camp that you brought with you. Pack it in, pack it out.
Garbage Removal
There will be individuals going down the canyon each night, who will take the garbage down with them.
